History

K. Francis Lee, MD, is a board-certified General Surgeon, practicing in the Springfield, MA region for over 20 years. Dr. Lee has dedicated his practice to the treatment of vein disease and surgical diseases of the skin and soft tissue. Advanced Vein Care Center has been serving the needs of patients with venous insufficiency for over 10 years. AVCC is the first Vein Center in MA and CT to receive accreditation by the Intersociety Accreditation Commission (IAC), the gold standard of approval for established vein centers. Staff include Dr. Lee, 1 surgical physician assistant, 1 surgical nurse practitioner, 3 ultrasound technologists and associated clinical and administrative support staff.

Specialties

Advanced Vein Care Center specializes in conditions related to venous insufficiency. Common treatable vein conditions include: Varicose Veins, Spider Veins and Venous Stasis Ulcers. A whole spectrum of leg pain and discomfort is caused by the condition called venous insufficiency, or reflux. Venous insufficiency is when blood in the veins flows in the reverse direction (away from the heart) due to gravity overcoming check valves inside the veins.
