The Skipjack Martha Lewis, built in 1955 by Bronza Parks in Wingate, Maryland, is a historic vessel named after Captain James Lewis's mother. This skipjack, alongside her sister ships, has played a vital role in the community and underwent a significant restoration in 1994 under the guidance of shipbuilder Allen Rawl.
Currently, Martha is in the final stages of a twelve-year restoration project in Cambridge, MD, and Hutchins Park in Havre de Grace after faithfully serving the community. Owned by the Chesapeake Heritage Conservancy, she is scheduled to return to service in autumn 2025, after wintering in nearby North East.
