The Northeast Performing Arts Group (NEPAG) is an award-winning arts and education program established in 1979 by Rita Jackson, dedicated to nurturing the creative talents of youth in the Northeast and Southeast corridors of Washington, D.C. By providing instruction in various performing and visual arts, NEPAG aims to offer constructive alternatives to street life while instilling vital lessons of discipline, commitment, and teamwork.
Over the past 45 years, NEPAG has successfully trained more than 9,000 young individuals, with over 400 going on to enroll in college, thus demonstrating the transformative power of the arts. The organization operates as a comprehensive hub, offering professional training in multiple dance styles, vocal and drama instruction, alongside academic support and life skills training to combat the challenges faced by at-risk youth.
