Scott Krummey earned his B.A. in Molecular Biology at Colgate University. He earned M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed residency in Clinical Pathology and fellowship in Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics at Emory University. He is an Associate Director of the Immunogenetics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Krummey’s research interests are in understanding cellular mechanisms of alloimmunity, with a focus on how cosignaling receptors and antigen recognition pathways can be exploited to restrain the lymphocytes that cause graft rejection. His laboratory studies mouse and human graft-specific CD8+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, and B cells using including MHC tetramers, transgenic mouse models, and high-dimensional flow cytometry.

There, he was also a member of the Sleep Center, the Vision Center and the Institute for Neuroscience.Dr. Gottschalk serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including The Scientific World Journal and World Journal of Anesthesiology. He was recognized by Johns Hopkins with a Service Excellence Award in 2011. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
