Shapiro & Duncan is the culmination of three generations of plumbers and mechanical contractors. In the mid-1930s Jake Shapiro started J. Shapiro Plumbing & Heating in Washington, D.C. After Jake retired, his son, David, a mechanical engineer, organized a mechanical contracting company in 1976 known as Shapiro & Duncan. In the early 90s, David s sons, Jerry and Sheldon, assumed operation of the company.
