Founded in 1975, Shimadzu Scientific Instruments provide analytical solutions for a range of laboratories in the United States. The company offers a variety of analytical, application and dual-range balances, as well as electronic printers. It provides a range of testing and inspection machines, such as hardness testers, high-speed video cameras, powders and particle size analyzers, and viscosity and flow testing instruments. Jasco Corporation was founded in 1958 to provide the scientific community with optical spectroscopy products. In the mid-1950s, a group of researchers in the Institute of Optics of what is now Tsukuba University needed an infrared spectrophotometer for their research. Since a commercially available instrument was not yet available at the time, they undertook the challenge to develop their own. The result was quite a success - a reliable instrument with excellent optical performance. As a second result, other research groups asked them to replicate the instrument for use within their laboratories. With the increased demand for more instruments, Jasco Corporation was founded in 1958 in order to provide the scientific community with optical spectroscopy products. Founding members included world-famous physicist Yoshio Fujioka and Nobel Prize-winner Shinichiri Tomonaga. For nearly 50 years, Jasco Corporation has continued to attain the highest standards in terms of optical performance, ease of use, and reliability. CDS Analytical has been a leader in the design and manufacture of laboratory instruments for sample preparation and analysis for more than 30 years. Best known in the field of analytical pyrolysis, CDS has supplied instrumentation for a wide range of additional analyses, including catalyst screening, reaction optimization, organic headspace analysis and environmental testing for water and soil. The first microprocessor controlled purge and trap instrument, the CDS Model 320, was introduced in 1980. This product won awards for significant development in environmental control technology. The Model 330 was designed to include cryogenic options and subsequently, a fourth generation of purge and trap concentrators, the PeakMaster, evolved. CDS Analytical and Dynatherm Analytical Instruments have combined forces adding additional thermal sampling instrumentation to the CDS product line. Dynatherm instruments provide laboratory personnel with the means to collect trace organic chemicals from air, water and soil samples, as well as diverse food products such as coffee, grains, juices, chocolate, flavorings and their packaging materials.
