Penn-Mar Human Service

The Providence Center provides treatment and support services to adults and children affected with psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems and addictions. It maintains a staff of specialized behavior health care professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, vocational and rehabilitation counselors, case managers and residential advisors. The center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities. It provides intensive services for children with serious behavior and emotional problems to prevent psychiatric hospitalization and out-of-home placement. The center also offers individual and group therapy and family counseling services to adolescents who have mental health and substance abuse problems. In addition, it provides child day care staff training and consulting services. The Providence Center has been operational since 1969.

Founded in 1985, Shadowfax Corporation is a private, nonprofit human services agency that supports individuals with disabilities. It offers a range of services that includes supported employment, job placement, vocational training and life skills development. The agency also serves senior citizens with disabilities, such as Alzheimer s disease and dementia. In addition, Shadowfax Corporation encourages individuals to participate in volunteer work and sport leagues. It manufactures a variety of engraved and plastic products, such as legend plates, customer signage, trophies, plastic name tags and machine control panel labels.
