Founded in 1961, the Providence Center provides a variety of services for individuals with disabilities. The center serves more than 450 adults in over seven locations throughout Anne Arundel County, Md. It offers vocational training, sheltered and supported employment, job development and placement, adult day care, senior citizen retirement support and in-home services. Located in Glen Burnie, Md., the Providence Center supports various leisure and recreational programs. The center additionally operates an art institute that provides professional and integrated instruction in visual and performing arts. In addition, it operates a resource center that features a range of programs that include instruction and opportunities in special interest, daytime entertaining activities and excursions. The resource center also houses individual support services and community supported living arrangement programs.

The Family Tree is on e of the leading nonprofit organization in the state of Maryland. The organization offers preventive services related to physical or mental injury of a child by a parent, caregiver and family member; or through sexual abuse and physical injuries. It serves individuals with physical and sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment and severe emotional disorders. The Family Tree also offers counseling, trauma assessment, treatment and education to children and youths. In addition, the organization provides respite care, residential support, personal and social assistance, and mental health and case management programs and specialty services. It is headquartered in Baltimore.
