Founded in 1972, The Judge David L Bazelon Center is a non-profit organization specializing in social service and welfare. It serves people with mental illnesses through changes in policy and mental health law. Located in Washington, D.C., the company promotes an array of policies, such as progressive mental health policy agenda, reform systems/programs to secure rights of children/adults with mental illnesses and disabilities. Washington County Human Development Council, located in Hagerstown, Md., is a nonprofit organization that offers medical day care services to adults suffering from developmental disabilities. It offers a wide range services, such as therapeutic care, medication administration, and meal, psychological and nutritional services. The rehabilitation services provided by the organization include physical and occupational therapies. It offers a variety of vocational training programs and provides employment and transportation services. Washington County Human Development Council operates more than 15 residential homes throughout Washington and Frederick counties in Maryland and offers 24 hours, seven days a week on-call nursing, administrative and maintenance services.
