Montgomery County Police Headquarters, a part of the Montgomery County Department of Police, serves the residents of Maryland. The Montgomery County Department of Police evaluates and improves public safety and maintains respect for individual rights and human dignity. It helps to safeguard life and property, as well as preserve peace in the city. The Montgomery County Department of Police also prevents and detects crime, enforces law and protects the rights of citizens. The department works in partnership with the community to identify and resolve issues that impact public safety. It operates traffic, internal affairs, media services, stress management, and legal and labor relations divisions.

Maryland-National Capital Park Police is an internationally accredited law enforcement agency that was founded in 1953. It employs more than 100 sworn officers and over 25 civil staff members. The park police secures and protects more than 23,000 acres of park property in Prince George's County, Md. It offers crime prevention and law enforcement services. The agency s Office of the Division Chief is responsible for establishing policies; human resources and financial management; providing public information; managing and coordinating the agency's accreditation process; and conducting audits and inspections. It also has field, support and investigative operation units. The agency s officers are responsible for protecting a variety of properties, such as undeveloped park lands, neighborhood parks, community centers, aquatic facilities, historical sites and mansions, sports arenas, and hiking and biking trails. Maryland-National Capital Park Police is located in Riverdale, Md., and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

The Baltimore County Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that includes more than 90 police officers and over 10 civilians. It provides services through a process of identification, analysis and assessment. The Baltimore County Police Department's field services division includes several watch commanders, sergeants and officers who perform patrol activities, initial investigations of criminal complaints, and traffic assignments and related complaints. Its staff also includes several specialized units, including K-9, field training, special response team, traffic homicide, bike patrol, community-oriented policing, victim advocate and agricultural crimes units. The police department offers various services, including traffic incident management, crime mapping and control of sexual offenses. Additionally, the Baltimore County Police Department also provides protection for automobiles and private property.
