Megan Kostibas, MD

Dr. Adam Sapirstein is an associate professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine and an assistant professor of surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is adult critical care. He is director of the Division of Adult Critical Care Medicine and is on faculty at the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality.Dr. Sapirstein received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed a residency in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He also performed a fellowship in anesthesiology and critical care medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.His research focuses on the roles of phospholipases A2 and their lipid metabolites in brain injury.He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Society for Neuroscience and the Society for Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Jed Wolpaw is an associate professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include anesthesiology and adult critical care medicine.Dr. Wolpaw graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University and then earned a master's degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and his M.D. from University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at UCSF and his fellowship in critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.Dr. Wolpaw's research interests include medical education and resident well-being. He is the founder and host of the Anesthesia and Critical Care Reviews and Commentary podcast (ACCRAC) which has more than 30,000 unique worldwide listeners each month. At Johns Hopkins he serves as the Anesthesiology Residency Program Director and co-leads the Anesthesiology and ICU medical student clerkships.

Dr. Algrain is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include anesthesiology and pain medicine.He graduated summa cum laude with his undergraduate degree in physiology and neurobiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He then went on to graduate Alpha Omega Alpha for his medical degree from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He subsequently completed a residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in pain medicine at Johns Hopkins University and has been on the faculty.Dr. Algrain’s interests include procedural sedation and has given numerous lectures on the topic. Has been an active member holding leadership roles in both the Maryland Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Anesthesiologists and an active member of a number of other professional organizations including the American Pain Society.
