Mayra Sanchez Gonzalez, Ph.D., is a counseling psychologist with expertise in rehabilitation psychology. She works with patients and families to manage physical, cognitive, behavioral and emotional problems related to living with or recovering from an injury or illness.Her clinical and research interests include exploring the links between psychological and physical health, and addressing psychological concerns of patients living with or recovering from an injury or illness. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Texas Tech University and completed her predoctoral internship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Prior to completing her fellowship in the Pediatric Medical Psychology Program at Johns Hopkins, she completed a research fellowship focused on pediatric health disparities at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
