Welcome to Kore K9! Kore K9 has been working with and along side leading pest control companies for the last seven years. Our Head trainer was honored with the invitation back in 2008 to have the opportunity to train our first bed bug detection dog and work with a well known government scientist to study the accuracy of bed bug detection canines. From that time we have been hooked with the challenge of producing some of the best bed bug detection canines to step foot into the pest control industry. Our canines are trained much differently than the majority of the canines you'll see working in this industry. We train all of our canines to work off leash and with toy reward. Essentially it's a game of hide and seek for the dog everytime they search. The dog works completely off leash from the handler allowing the canine to source the odor of bed bugs on their own. Often times we see canines who are worked on leash either miss the odor of bed bug because they were not able to get within a proper distance of the odor due to being on leash, or simply missing the odor because they were given hand targets of areas to inspect by the handler and will not work independently to detect odors on their own. We DO NOT use food reward canines or on leash...why? Because, they are simply not as accurate and have a very high false alert rate. Servicing Maryland, Virginia, DC
