Dr. Kelly Myers is an Assistant Professor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Radiology, Breast Imaging section. She specializes in the interpretation of breast imaging exams and image-guided procedures of the breast, including screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound-guided breast biopsies, MRI guided breast biopsies and pre-operative localization procedures of the breast. In 2003, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University with a BS in Biomedical Engineering. She then attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she spent an additional research year funded by a Doris Duke Research Fellowship. After an internship year at Flushing Hospital, Dr. Myers attended Johns Hopkins for Radiology Residency. During residency, she pursued research interests funded by a T32 Ruth Kirschstein research grant. She then went to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for a breast imaging fellowship, and in 2014 joined the staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering for one year prior to returning to Johns Hopkins. Dr. Myers’ research interests focus on ways to improve the detection of breast cancer. This includes the investigation of new, developing technologies as well as optimizing existing technologies to improve the detection of breast cancer. Dr. Myers also has a strong interest in resident education, both through one-on-one teaching at the workstation and in creating educational resources.

Dr. Donna Magid, a Johns Hopkins Medicine Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, holds joint appointments in Orthopaedic Surgery and Functional Anatomy and Evolution. As Director of both the JHU SOM Horizontal Strand in Diagnostic Imaging, and Undergraduate Medical Education in Radiology, she develops and oversees educational programs and curriculae from Gross Anatomy through the Transition to Wards and clinical years to ensure a firm foundation in and comprehension of the intelligent, safe, effective use of imaging in medical practice and of appropriate consultation with Diagnostic Imagers. Her areas of clinical specialization include Musculoskeletal and Emergency Medicine radiography and joint procedures, including aspirations and pain-response studies, particularly in difficult patients who might otherwise require anesthesia for same.After receiving her BS summa cum laude in Psychology at Tufts University in Boston, she completed an M.Ed in Adolescent Psychology at Boston University. Her MD from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine was followed by one year out of the JHU system for internship at Harvard's Cambridge Hospital in Boston, after which she returned to JHM for Radiology Residency, Radiology Fellowship in CT and US , and subsequent faculty positions. Her career has been 'biphasic'; after a decade focused on nationally recognized Orthopaedic and Body CT research, she became heavily engaged with medical student and resident education and mentoring. After a decade as Co-Director of Resident Selection and Assistant Residency Program Director she shifted her focus, as she participated in the development and debut of JHU SOM's new curriculum, to the success of that curriculum and to the medical students. This focus and passion has been rewarded with multiple awards both at Hopkins and nationally, for teaching excellence and for published research in radiology education. Dr. Magid is participating in the writing and design of the ABR's new national mandated licensing exam for Diagnostic Radiology.

Jim C. Fackler, MD

Dr. James Fackler is a professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include acute respiratory distress syndrome, novel respiratory therapies, and critical care informatics.Dr. Fackler received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Illinois and earned his M.D. from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He completed his residencies in pediatrics and anesthesiology and then fellowships in pediatric intensive care and pediatric anesthesia at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His first faculty position was at the Children's Hospital in Boston where he was an early leader in use of the internet for health data exchange and critical care monitoring.Dr. Fackler returned to the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1996 to run the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation program and Respiratory Therapy.He took a "sabbatical" from 2002 to 2006 and worked for the Cerner Corporation developing their critical care and device integration solutions. He has founded three health care informatics-based startups and consults for other device and information integration companies.Dr. Fackler's research interests include optimizing team performance in pediatric critical care. He has mentored pediatric residents, critical care fellows, and biomedical engineering undergrads, Masters and PhD students. His current major focus is on sepsis.He serves as an associate editor for Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and as an ad hoc journal reviewer for many notable publications including New England Journal of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He is a member of American Association of Artificial Intelligence, American Medical Informatics Association and the Society for Critical Care Medicine. He helped found, and is on the Board of the non-profit, Machine Learning for Healthcare.Dr. Fackler is a frequent lecturer and panelist on the subject of critical care informatics. He is an expert in data integration and its use.
