The Greater Highland Crossroads Association (GHCA) was established in March 2002 in response to rising development pressures in Highland, MD, and aims to preserve the unique character of this last country crossroads community in Howard County. Committed to enhancing the quality of life, the GHCA collaborates with local government and developers to ensure that new developments complement the area's natural environment and community needs.

Since its inception, the GHCA has successfully initiated numerous projects and advocacy efforts, including the creation of architectural design standards, the revitalization of local businesses, and the organization of community events like Highland Day. Through these initiatives, the association has garnered respect from both the Howard County Government and local residents, reinforcing its role as a steward of the Highland community.
