Gilman School

Established in 1982, Banner School offers liberal arts education for students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school offers a program composed of language arts, math, science and social studies. Classes in art, music, Spanish, French, computers and physical education are essential components of the curriculum at every grade level. Each year there is an immersion topic where students in all grades study and explore a period of history or a special topic of current interest. Students have opportunities to join the chorus, an instrumental band, the drama club, the sports academy and numerous athletic teams. The Banner School also fields interscholastic teams in soccer, volleyball, basketball and track and field. It organizes a summer camp, an extended care program and provides financial aid facilities. The Banner School is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education and accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools. The school is in Frederick, Md.

Trinity School is an independent, Catholic primary and middle school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, offering classes to students in grades kindergarten through eight. The school offers an extensive academic program that includes courses in fine arts, humanities, physical education, computer science and library research. It also provides life skills seminars, and has a guidance and counseling department to assist the students. The school additionally offers various sports programs, including volleyball, baseball, basketball, track and field, football and cross-country. The school offers various after school and summer programs, and its home and school association helps in fund raising, promotes cooperation between parents and teachers for the benefit of the children, and provides information sessions on curriculum, parenting and other topics.
