Super cool spot. It was a cloudy and gloomy day when we walked by so it made this place feel eerie. The grounds and graves all looked well kept.

Located in Baltimore, Maryland, Edgar Allan Poe's Grave Site and Memorial is a historic landmark that pays tribute to the renowned American writer. Originally buried in an unmarked grave, Poe's final resting place was neglected until concerned individuals took action to ensure its proper maintenance. The memorial, designed by George A. Frederick and executed by Hugh Sisson, was dedicated in 1875 and stands as a testament to Poe's enduring legacy.
This iconic site not only commemorates Poe but also includes the remains of his wife, Virginia Poe, and his mother-in-law, Maria Clemm. Despite rumors and confusion surrounding the exhumation process, the memorial committee, led by George W. Spence and Neilson Poe, ensured the proper reburial of Poe's remains. Today, visitors can explore this significant landmark and pay their respects to one of America's most celebrated literary figures.

I had a brief stop over here before leaving to Greenland. I really enjoyed seeing Poe's memorial and grave site.
It's a cool, easy stop with free, easy access. There is the large, fancy grave site right up front, but I prefer the old grave site. Seems more appropriate for the dark and moody Poe. Just be...
Lots of history here and it's nice to see that it's open to the public and also being preserved as much as possible. A little eerie but also cool to be standing at a spot in history.
