Since 1887, Crittenton Services of Greater Washington has been providing teen women with programs that directly address life changing issues " pregnancy, STDs and relationship violence. We support teen women living in underserved communities by helping them adopt healthy behaviors, set and achieve SMART ( Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound ) goals, and expand knowledge about post secondary education and career options. Crittenton's signature, positive youth development and comprehensive sexual health education programs " SNEAKERS and PEARLS " are weekly, voluntary, school-based programs. SNEAKERS is for girls navigating the challenges and choices of eighth grade through high school. PEARLS is for young mothers dealing with the dual challenges of adolescence and parenting. Crittenton's Leadership Academy participants are recruited from the SNEAKERS and PEARLS programs. Crittenton's focus on prevention programs " prevention of pregnancy, STDs and relationship violence " takes a positive and proven approach. Crittenton staff believe in and build on the inherent strengths of the girls we serve. Your support helps Crittenton's SNEAKERS and PEARLS participants build leadership skills for the classroom, community and work force. Want to make an even bigger impact?
