Christina Kokorelis, MD

Dr. Akhil Chhatre is an assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation and neurological surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is director of spine rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Chhatre sees and treats adults with a wide range of spinal diseases and disorders, including neck and low back pain, lumbar and cervical degenerative disease, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, facet joint disease, whiplash syndrome, sacroiliac and appendicular skeletal joint disease, and peripheral neuropathy. He has a special interest in helping patients regain function and reduce pain using non-surgical techniques and performing pain-reducing medicinal procedures, including steroid injections, nerve blocks and radiofrequency denervation. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center School of Allied Health. He performed his fellowship in interventional spine and sports medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, Dr. Chhatre worked as an interventional spine and sports fellow at the Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania after completing a residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Daniel Sova, M.D., is a rehabilitation physician specializing in adult and pediatric pain and musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, bursitis, radiculopathy, neuropathy, myofascial pain and degenerative disc disease. He uses a range of therapies, including joint injections and interventional image-guided pain management procedures.Dr. Sova is an assistant professor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where he completed his residency, followed by an interventional pain fellowship with the Johns Hopkins Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Sova’s research interests include pediatric neuropathic and musculoskeletal pain, quality improvement and resident education.

Dr. Kenneth H. C. Silver is an associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He serves as the vice chair for clinical affairs in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins Medicine and medical director of the comprehensive integrated inpatient rehabilitation program at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Maryland.His clinical and research interests include stroke rehabilitation, injection procedures to manage abnormal muscle tone (spasticity) and electrodiagnostic procedures (EMG).Dr. Silver earned his medical degree and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Maryland. He joined Johns Hopkins Medicine in July 2004. He previously served as chief of the Division of Rehabilitation in the Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Silver was on the full-time faculty at Johns Hopkins in physical medicine and rehabilitation from 1984 through 1994 before leaving for the University of Maryland. During that time, he maintained a part-time faculty position at Johns Hopkins.He has authored and co-authored numerous papers and book chapters in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation, and has received grant funding in the areas of dysphagia and stroke rehabilitation. He has conducted clinical trials on the use of medications to treat spasticity in stroke patients, and has lectured nationally and internationally.
