Annapolis, MD 21401

The Charles Carroll House and Gardens in Annapolis, Maryland, stands as a significant historical site linked to three generations of the prominent Carroll family, including Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence. Owned by the Redemptorists, the property reflects over 300 years of history and serves as a vital connection to both Maryland's Catholic heritage and early American history.

This restoration-in-progress is among the largest and most impressive historic sites in Annapolis, showcasing the story of the first Attorney General of Maryland and his family's commitment to personal, political, and religious freedom. The Carroll family played a critical role in the development of Catholicism in America, with connections that extend to the formation of the first Catholic diocese in the United States.
