Dr. Gamaldo earned her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. After completing her neurology residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital, she became the first neurology sleep fellow at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) School of Medicine in 2004. Since joining the Johns Hopkins Department of Neurology, her career accomplishments reflect her passion and pursuit of excellence across the Johns Hopkins’ pillars of teaching, research and clinical care. She has over 122 scholarly works in the areas of sleep medicine research, medical education and academic career development. In recognition of her contributions, Dr. Gamaldo has received awards in domains of research discovery, education, clinical care, and leadership, including the American Academy of Neurology – Sleep Science Award; The JHU Institute of Excellence - Educator Scholarship Award; The American Academy of Neurology – Educator Innovation Award; The American Academy of Sleep – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Award; and “Top Doctors” recognitions in Baltimore magazine and the Washington Post.

Head and neck endocrine surgeon Kaitlyn Frazier specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Her treatment philosophy is to partner with patients to find the right treatment option for each individual. She offers patients a range of surgical options, including traditional open surgeries as well as transoral or “scarless” thyroid surgery and nonsurgical ablation of thyroid nodules. Prior to her clinical training, Dr. Frazier studied biomedical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology before spending several years in management consulting at Bain & Company with a focus on organizational strategy/design and market research. Dr. Frazier’s research interests include clinical and quality of life outcomes for radiofrequency and microwave ablation of benign thyroid nodules, radiofrequency ablation of thyroid microcarcinomas, remote access surgery and advanced therapies for thyroid cancer. She also draws upon her consulting background with the use of analytics to inform parameters for clinical best practices and guidelines, as well as for quality and safety initiatives, including leading a multidisciplinary hospital-wide risk assessment on clinical communications tools. She is the principal investigator of several clinical trials studying the efficacy of new technologies to aid in treatment of thyroid and parathyroid disorders. As a Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine faculty member, she is an engaged teacher in the residency program, where she instructs residents on the fundamentals of thyroid and parathyroid surgery. She mentors both medical and undergraduate students, and is an annual medical school lecturer on clinical applications of head and neck anatomy. She is a member of the American Thyroid Association, the Endocrine Surgery Section of the American Head and Neck Society, the North American Society for Interventional Thyroidology, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Marmor is a surgeon who specializes in the open and endovascular treatment of a wide range of vascular conditions. Her clinical interests include: minimally invasive treatment for peripheral arterial disease (PAD), aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, and dialysis access. Dr. Marmor employs a patient-centered approach to surgical care and appreciates closely following her patient’s progress during their treatments and beyond. She especially values the multidisciplinary nature of vascular surgery and appreciates collaborating with other surgical colleagues to perform cancer, spine, and reconstructive operations. Additionally, she has a keen interest in the treatment of vascular conditions among women, which are often under-appreciated. As a clinical informaticist, Dr. Marmor studies how health systems can use the electronic health record (EHR) to improve patient care, provider-patient communication, and providers’ experiences with electronic charting. Her work has been published in the Journal of Vascular Surgery, Surgery, and Applied Clinical Informatics. As an assistant professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, she also trains medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Marmor’s practice is based out of Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center.
