Carroll Creek Linear Park in Frederick, MD is a remarkable urban oasis that emerged from a flood control project aimed at safeguarding the city's historic downtown area. With an underground system of concrete conduits capable of holding millions of cubic feet of water, the park's ground-level space was transformed into a vibrant public space featuring brick pedestrian paths, water features, planters with shade trees, pedestrian bridges, and an outdoor amphitheater for performances.
Since its completion, Carroll Creek Linear Park has not only protected local properties but has also become a focal point for economic growth and enjoyment in downtown Frederick.
