Capital Plaza Mall, formerly a bustling shopping center in Landover Hills, Maryland, was built between 1961 and 1963 to serve the Bladensburg and Landover area of suburban Washington, D.C. The mall featured a variety of stores, anchor tenants, and amenities, making it a major attraction in Prince George's County.

However, after experiencing a slow decline starting in the 1970s, Capital Plaza Mall closed its doors in 2005 and was ultimately demolished in 2007. The site was later leased by Wal-Mart, which built a store on the grounds, marking the end of an era for the once vibrant shopping destination.
