Bradley A. Salus is an optometrist and instructor of ophthalmology at the Frederick and Bethesda, Maryland, locations of the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. His areas of emphasis include comprehensive eye care, specialty contact lens fitting, ocular surface disease and dry eye, glaucoma management, and ocular pathology triaging and management. Dr. Salus obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical and biological engineering at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He was a chemical engineer for five years in the Greater Salt Lake City area before returning to graduate school to pursue his career interest in optometry. He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, graduating as the class of 2023 salutatorian. He was the Wilmer Eye Institute’s inaugural optometry resident in primary eye care, with an emphasis in specialty contact lenses from 2023–2024. His approach to patient care is being thorough and compassionate, emphasizing patient communication and evidence-based approaches for treatment and management decision-making.
