(HEC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of Ellicott City and Howard County since its founding in 1973. With over $2 million raised, HEC has successfully restored numerous historic landmarks and advocated for policies supporting historic preservation at local and state levels.
Best known for its annual Decorator Show Houses, HEC brings together property owners and designers to restore historic homes while raising funds for ongoing preservation projects. Through educational initiatives and community engagement, HEC continues to foster an appreciation for the rich history of Ellicott City.
