Edith Root McMillan Dietz, MD
Dr. Edith Dietz is a general pediatrician who works in primary care at The Children's Medical Practice at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and in Johns Hopkins Bayview's combined Pediatric ER and Inpatient Unit. Lorraine Anne Milio, MD
Dr. Lorraine Milio is an assistant professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. She serves as obstetrical director and obstetrical consultant for the Center for Addiction and Pregnancy. Dr. Milio’s areas of clinical expertise include endocrine disorders of pregnancy and HIV and pregnancy.Dr. Milio earned her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Mount Holyoke College and her M.D. from Rush Medical College. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center and performed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. She also holds a master’s degree in public health from The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Milio joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1996.Dr. Milio is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Milio is a recipient of the Johns Hopkins Service Excellence Award.
Alexandra Abbate, MD
Alexandra Abbate, M.D., is an instructor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Her areas of clinical expertise include general obstetric and gynecologic care, and she is fluent in both English and Spanish.Dr. Abbate received her undergraduate degree from Saint Louis University, where she studied biology and Spanish. She spent the following year working as an English teaching assistant in Mexico through the Fulbright program. Dr. Abbate went on to earn her medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine, and completed her residency at the University of Texas at Austin, where she served as chief resident. During residency, she received several medical student teaching awards, including the Gold Humanism Honor Society Excellence in Teaching Award.Her research interests include breastfeeding disparities in the early postpartum period and health outcome disparities in underserved populations. Dr. Abbate’s special interests also include providing care to underserved patients in the community, and medical education.
