The Air Warrior Courage Foundation (AWCF) is a non-profit organization based in Silver Spring, MD. Established in 1998, the foundation was formed by members of the RRVA to address the increasing challenges faced by active, retired, and former members of the U.S. military, their families, and the nation as a whole. AWCF aims to support military aviators and their families who are dealing with financial hardships caused by illness or injury, recognize the courage of those involved in air combat actions, and assist aspiring military aviators. The foundation has received a 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator for 12 consecutive years.
AWCF offers various programs to provide assistance to veterans and their families, including the AWCF Wounded Warrior Emergency Support Fund. Through this fund, the foundation has provided millions of dollars in benefits such as cash, vehicles, and travel support. AWCF is eligible for personal or corporate contributions, as well as Combined Federal Campaign and United Way donations.
