The American Chestnut Land Trust (ACLT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and conserving the natural and cultural resources of the Parkers Creek and Governors Run watersheds in Southern Maryland. Since its founding in 1986, ACLT has successfully protected over 3,800 acres of land while providing public access for educational, scientific, recreational, and cultural purposes.

ACLT offers a range of activities including guided hikes, canoe trips, and events throughout the year, as well as maintaining 26 miles of trails that are free to the public.
