He graduated from Rockland High school in 1961, University of Maine at Orono in 1965 and Georgetown Dental School in 1970. He enlisted in the US Navy Dental Corps for 2 years before returning to Rockland to practice with Dr. Michael Dougherty. Upon completion of the building in 1974 where Glen Cove Dental now exists, they transferred their practice from Rockland to Glen Cove. Dr. Barbour married his high school sweetheart, Susan and they had 2 children, Beth and Jake. During his children?s school years he was a coach for pee-wee sports and active in the high school basketball boosters club. He was on the S.A.D. 5 school board for 4 years.
