History

My mother Norma Scopino started Montsweag Flea Market in May 1977 Mother's Day weekend with just 10 tables. She ran the market for 35 Seasons, building to 100+ tables and 9 buildings. I assisted her in what she needed each season, from Mowing the grass, to Running the Snack Bar and Showing her Vendors to their tables & collecting. When Mama passed Feb. 26, 2013 I had promised I would carry on her business. Mother's Day weekend, just like she would, I Open the market for the first time on my own. Thankfully Mama was a Great Teacher, and there were only a few things I had never done. I've learned those now and we are Opening for the 40th Season May 10, 2017, Mother's Day Weekend. I'd like also to Publicly thank each and every Flea Market Family Member for the Support they gave me, and are still giving me, as I took on Babysitting Mama's Baby until I join her in Heaven.

Specialties

I attended this flea market in the summer on a Sunday. At 11 am, there was a little more than half of the tables occupied by vendors, so it was a bit disappointing to see so many vacancies. Also,...

A mid coast tradition, fun and friendly. Can find a lot of genuine overpriced junk, but there are some real finds and Maine history if you have the mind to look through the flotsam
