The Monson Historical Society, a 501-C 3 nonprofit organization, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Monson and its surrounding towns of Elliotsville, Blanchard, and Willimantic. Through collecting and displaying historical material, the society aims to provide accessibility for all who wish to explore and learn about the area's past.
Located on Main Street Greenville Road in Monson, the Monson Museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts, including items from the Monson Narrow Gauge Railroad, military memorabilia, displays on slate mining and the Spruce Gum business, Monson Academy trophies, and more.
