In the summer of 1993, Connecting Rentals Inc Founder Debbie Martin noticed a growing trend in the rental industry in the Sunday River area. More and more groups of visitors were in search of lodging accommodations that were an alternative to traditional resort style, motel, or B & B accommodations. They sought to comfortably spend quality time with each other under one roof, to cook meals and eat together as a family or group, and do so at a reasonable cost. More and more visitors who frequently came to the area were also in search of rentals for the entire winter season. It was more viable for one or two families to split the cost of rent for a season than to book multiple reservations all winter at resort prices. With this in mind Debbie Martin literally went door to door to privately owned homes in the Sunday River area to speak to Owners regarding their level of interest on working with her to accommodate vacationers and visitors. In 1993 Connecting Rentals of Bethel opened its doors with an inventory of 7 privately owned properties managed from a small rented office space on Main Street. The company soon began to flourish with its foundation centered on providing exceptional rental management services to property Owners and connecting visitors and vacationers to affordable rental alternatives in the Sunday River area. By 1997 the company had grown enough to purchase an office building and a prime location on the newly constructed Park Way extension. The original office building was eventually moved from Cross Street to its present location at 22 Parkway. Connecting Rentals has represented hundreds of rental properties of all types from smaller 1 bedroom apartments to 10 bedroom luxury investment properties. They have accommodated thousands of Guests and have forged many of the standards for price, service, and quality found in the Sunday River and Bethel area alternative lodging marketplace of 2010. As a forward looking company Connecting Rentals Inc will continue to adapt and set new standards with diversified rental management packages planned for 2010/2011.
