Kennebunk Plains Wildlife Management Area, located in Kennebunk, ME, is a 2,000-acre preserve managed by The Nature Conservancy. Formerly blueberry barrens, this expansive landscape is home to a diverse range of unique and rare species, including the largest flock of endangered Grasshopper Sparrows in Maine and the rare Black Racer Snake. Visitors can enjoy recreational activities and observe the breathtaking Northern Blazing Star, the world's largest population of this threatened flowering plant, which blooms in August and September.
Managed in partnership with Kennebunk Land Trust, Kennebunk Plains Wildlife Management Area offers outstanding opportunities for nature enthusiasts to explore and appreciate the beauty of this protected landscape.
