Katahdin Funds

KFI, also known as Katahdin Friends, is a non-profit agency providing individualized support to people with and without disabilities. Based in Millinocket, Maine, the agency offers a variety of services, including supported living and employment, job placement and adjustment services. Its range of employment services include on-the-job training and work ability improvement for individuals with mental retardation and autism. KFI employs trained job coaches who assist individuals to integrate into the work environment, establish positive working relationships with supervisors and coworkers and develop natural support. The agency also provides assistance to individuals in fulfilling their non-work needs, and improvement of employment and job retention factors. KFI offers various other services, including job shadowing, job development and placement, short-term job coaching, consultation to employers and follow-up.
