The Dirigo Place Program, located in Lewiston, Maine, is a transitional living facility for youth returning from psychiatric hospitalization and transitioning. It offers assessment and treatment planning, intensive family counseling, and educational services. The facility also provides emergency respite and crisis stabilization beds. The Dirigo Place Program is a part of North American Family Institute, also known as NAFI, which is a private nonprofit human service agency that offers community-based care services for children, youths and adults with emotional and behavioral problems. The agency works with various state and local agencies throughout the United States to provide human services programs. It offers residential behavioral health programs for latency-aged children and adolescents, as well as social services for infants and young children.
