History

Captain Jon grew up adventuring along New England's windswept shores. Exploring hidden coves, sandy beaches and swimming in Atlantic waters inspired a career on the water. Living on the Maine coast just increased his awareness of a sense of community and respect for the environment, much needed in these times. Inspired by a pristine New England tidal harbor, and once home to the best tasting oysters anywhere, Great Salt Pond lends its name. Great Salt Charters is a unique sightseeing, fishing and lobstering charter venture operating out of picturesque Kittery Point Maine. Captain Jon offers a variety of hands-on, interactive and educational trips for your group to experience as he hosts your cruise along the scenic coastline aboard Great Salt.

Specialties

We offer sightseeing tours of the Maine coastline and up close viewing of historic lighthouses and landmarks. Enjoy a sunset cruise and wildlife viewing as we wander the scenic backchannels of the Piscataqua River. Take part in a hands-on lobster demonstration or some fishing for mackerel and striped bass.
