Its children's services division offers community-based residential and outpatient programs serving children and their families in need of intensive help with emotional and behavioral challenges. Its adult mental health services department provides a wide range of services to adults with mental illnesses. Its home health division provides various services, including advanced wound care and enterostomal therapy, AIDS care, Alzheimer's disease consultation services, chemotherapy and cardiac rehabilitation. CHCS is Medicare- and Medicaid-certified and is located in Lincoln, Maine.

CHCS (Community Health and Counseling Services) began in 1883. It serves as one of the lead agencies of Northeast Crisis Service, which since 1997 has been providing an array of crisis prevention and intervention services to children and adults in Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis and Washington counties. CHCS is one of the largest providers of home health services in New England.
