Operational since 1919, Camp Tapawingo covers an area of more than 200 acres and offers entertainment options for girls. The camp provides participation options in several activities, such as softball, field hockey, lacrosse, kickball, soccer, archery, basketball and volleyball. It also offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options. A private, independent entity, Camp Tapawingo organizes painting, drawing, printmaking and woodworking programs. The camp additionally organizes workshops, improvisation classes, variety shows and music events. It offers canoeing and whitewater rafting excursion options on Allagash, Saco, Androscoggin, Kennebec and Penobscot rivers in Maine.
