Music and Magic of Maine is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing musical instruments and creative opportunities to families in Biddeford, ME. With the help of generous donors, they have gifted hundreds of instruments to over 142 families, schools, and organizations in Maine, enriching the lives of young people and keeping the magic of music alive. Founded in 2009 in loving memory of Van Lawton, Music and Magic of Maine collects gently used instruments, repairs them, and distributes them to families in need. They work closely with partners such as Maine Public and KindKids Music, as well as music educators, social workers, and small organizations, to ensure that every child who wants to play an instrument has the opportunity to do so.
