Black Brook Preserve is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving and providing access to local lands and clean water in Gorham, Gray, Standish, Westbrook, and Windham, Maine. As water stewards of the Presumpscot River watershed, they offer free public access to preserved lands, including trails and water access points.
In addition to their conservation efforts, Black Brook Preserve coordinates the Sebago to the Sea Trail, a 28-mile route linking Standish to Portland. Their educational initiatives and community engagement activities, such as the Summer Trail Challenge and alewife migration events, foster a deeper understanding of the region’s natural resources.
