In operation since 1874, Community Counseling Center is a private, nonprofit family service agency that offers a range of behavioral health and family services. It provides counseling services, parenting education, child abuse prevention and treatment, marriage and family therapy programs, and youth development and mental health services. The agency was founded as a merger of Child and Family Services, the Unmarried Parents Services and Adoption Program, Traveler s Aid Society, Portland Fraternity and South Portland Family Service Association. Located in Portland, Maine, Community Counseling Center is licensed by the Department of Health and Human Services and approved by the National Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services. It is a member of the Alliance for Children and Families and supported by the United Way of Greater Portland.
