A 36 site family campground located right on the West Branch of the Penobscot River. Just at the base of Mt Katahdin's "Abol Slide." Large clean shower house. Camp sites are wooded or on the river. Summer 2015 we added 10 bunkhouse cabins that sleep 4 each. Restaurant and full store onsite. The campground abuts Baxter State Park and is located right on the Appalachian Trail. Abol Bridge is the end or beginning of the 100 Mile Wilderness of the AT. Visit the ice caves just up the road. Or hike right out of the campground into Baxter State Park's blueberry ledges.
