True Vine Baptist Church
True Vine Baptist Church, founded on September 27, 1865, has its roots in the slave quarters of the Zeringue Plantation under the guidance of Reverend Thomas Peterson. With a rich history, it is recognized as the second oldest black church on the West Bank, continuously serving its congregation from its location on Sala Avenue since its establishment in 1897.
The church has weathered challenges, including significant fires in 1926 and 1961, leading to rebuilds that reflect its enduring spirit. True Vine Baptist Church remains a central pillar of the community, committed to its mission and heritage over more than a century.
