The Community Wellness Center is a partnership among the hospital, St. Tammany Parish and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals to provide services typically found in state health units. It provides convenient one-stop care for WIC and KidMed recipients. CWC hosts the annual breast and prostate cancer screenings and sponsors monthly classes for breastfeeding mothers, first Fridays at 11 am with a certified lactation consultant. The Parenting Center promotes confidence and competence in parents, encourages optimal child development and enhances the wellbeing of the family as a whole. Being a parent is a challenge. Sometimes you can use a little help, and the Parenting Center is ready for you. As parents, it is nice to learn how other parents deal with the same challenges. Parents and care-givers may take advantage of the many programs that are offered to the community that deals with a variety of parenting issues.
