State of Louisiana State Police Office

Louisiana State Police is a statutorily mandated, statewide law enforcement agency. It ensures the safety and security of people through enforcement and educational services and is located in Alexandria, La. The agency features more than 1,000 men and women officers responsible for the criminal and highway safety interdictions in the state. Louisiana State Police s planning unit is responsible for developing, monitoring and administering federal and state grants. Its research unit develops policies, procedures and legislative concerns. The agency also manages a fleet of more than 2,400 vehicles, including police cars. Its supply unit offers uniforms, hats, jackets, raincoats, ballistic vests, pistols and rifles to troopers and police officers. Louisiana State Police is certified by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
