Dr. Rougelot of the Skin Surgery Centre welcomes patients at our Metairie, Mandeville, and Biloxi offices. He was born in New Orleans and grew up in Covington where he attended St. Paul's School. He received his Medical Doctorate from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Under the mentorship of renowned Mohs surgeon Dr. Gary Monheit at Dermatology Associates of Birmingham, he completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. Mohs is a gold standard technique for treating skin cancer with the highest cure rates. With a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to patient well-being, Dr. Rougelot ensures compassionate and top-notch dermatological services for all.

Elizabeth Bucher, M.D

Dr. Elizabeth Foley Bucher was born and raised in New Orleans. She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy and then attended Boston College, in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, where she completed the college pre-medical curriculum and received a Bachelor of Arts in English. She completed her undergraduate medical education at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2008.From medical school, Dr. Bucher went on to complete an internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical Center in Worcester, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year of training. Following residency, Dr. Bucher was selected to complete a highly sought after ACGME accredited fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology under Dr. Mary Maloney, Chairwoman of the Department of Dermatology at UMass, past president of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Mohs surgeon for over 25 years. During this year-long, dedicated fellowship, Dr. Bucher completed over 1000 Mohs surgery procedures, including reconstructive surgery to preserve form and function with an emphasis on excellent cosmetic outcome.Following fellowship, Dr. Bucher practiced Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery as a member of the faculty at UMass and in private practice in the Boston area. While on the faculty at UMass, Dr. Bucher helped train residents and fellows in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology and participated the Department of Dermatology Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Oncology Tumor Board. In 2015, Dr. Bucher returned home to New Orleans to join the Skin Surgery Centre. Dr. Bucher is the co-author of several papers and case reports that are published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at a variety of professional meetings and institutional Grand Rounds.Dr. Bucher is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgeons, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Womens Dermatologic Society, the Louisiana Dermatological Society, the Jefferson Parish Medical Society and the Louisiana State Medical Society. She served as President of the Louisiana Dermatological Society for the 2019 academic year. She is on the medical staff of East Jefferson General Hospital with courtesy privileges. Dr. Bucher also holds a position as Clinical Assistant Professor-gratis of Dermatology at LSU in New Orleans, where she participates in developing and teaching the surgical dermatology curriculum to the residents.Dr. Bucher operates in all Skin Surgery Centre locations performing Mohs micrographic surgery and excisional surgery for the treatment of skin cancer and other cutaneous neoplasms. She has an interest in skin cancer prevention and treatment and sees adults and children over 5 years old.
