Pamoja Art Society

Pamoja Art Society, established in 1974, is the oldest Black American Arts Organization in Louisiana. Committed to nurturing, creating, and promoting art by Black American artists in the Shreveport-Bossier area, Pamoja serves as a membership-based artist clearinghouse and a community-based presenter of art programs for the public. With a focus on stimulating cultural development, Pamoja provides a platform to showcase the talents of fine arts craftsmen and encourages the production of creative works.

Through its programming at the Pamoja Cultural Arts Center and Executive Headquarters, Pamoja strives to bring together Louisiana's most talented and inspiring artists, fostering a supportive community for artists to refine their creative voices, explore cultural and universal themes, develop their professional ability, and enhance the value of Black American art. As a member of the Black Arts coalition in Shreveport, Pamoja collaborates with other organizations to promote diversity and ethnicity within the inner community.
