Middendorf’s Slidell is the second location of the iconic Louisiana Restaurant known as the “Home of the World Famous Original Thin Fried Catfish®." The same Thin Fried Catfish recipe has been used since Middendorf’s was established back in 1934. The restaurant has come a long way in 90 years. Our buildings might be big now, but we're still a small business, locally owned and operated. We're a family-friendly seafood restaurant filled with beautiful wood, down-home comfort and a touch of whimsy. We're conveniently located right off I-10 with plenty of parking -- even for buses and RVs. We have indoor and outdoor dining available. Outside, we have The Porch which is open-air, relaxing, and always seems to have a lovely breeze. The Porch overlooks an inviting Sand Play Area for the kids featuring palm trees, tiki huts and water fountains.

We Stopped here for lunch on our way back from Florida and it was delicious. Service was great! The restaurant was very nice and the bathroom was big and clean. We ordered the 1/2 fried shrimp...

Of course I forgot to take pics of the food but the thin fried catfish and coleslaw stole the show. Some others in my party had the BBQ shrimp and the chicken tuna salad. We all had different...

Battery was falling off the shrimp. The "Housemade" cocktail sauce was nasty. All clumsy and watery wouldn't on anything. Server brought another bottle. Wasn't any better. Wouldn't recommend...

Middendorf's - IYKYK. Thin fried catfish, fast services, reasonable prices (3 adults got full for $60). The thin fried catfish is their hallmark. So thin you can read the newspaper through it....
