The Louisiana Crawfish Festival, hosted by the Louisiana Crawfish Fest Foundation, began in 1975 as a community-driven initiative by the Knights of Columbus Rummel Council 5747 to raise funds for St. Bernard Parish. After a hiatus due to Hurricane Katrina, the festival resumed in 2007 and has since become a vital fundraiser, donating over two million dollars to local community initiatives and supporting various charitable causes.
