LIGO Livingston, located in Livingston, Louisiana, is one of the two gravitational wave detectors operated by Caltech and MIT, supported by the US National Science Foundation. The facility works in tandem with LIGO Hanford to detect the faint signals of gravitational waves generated by the universe's most energetic events.
